Federal Council approves new 2023-2024 budget

After a decision by the Ridgelantic government, the 2023-2024 Ridgelantic federal budget was released on December 21, 2023. The released budget plan included a 5% defense budget, one of the highest budget percentages in the world, only behind countries such as Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. As for the Diplomatic Aid budget, which encompasses 20% of the Ridgelantic budget, the Ridgelantic government plans to spend government aid on non-military aid to organizations such as the Ukrainian Red Cross. The Ridgelantic opposition is yet to respond to the federal budget plan, however taxes in the Autonomy of Tukundy are unlikely to be included in this budget plan due to exemption from Ridgelantic federal law.
